Janice's Route¶
Spoilers ahead
This walkthrough covers story events, discoveries, and relationship outcomes. Intimate scenes are summarized without graphic detail.
Janice's story begins with an ordinary morning and a neglected load of laundry. It develops through chores, shared meals, awkward misunderstandings, a restaurant date, three messages, and several separate evenings together. Most of the route takes place at My House, but returning to the right room at the right time is part of the progression.
Match the numbers below to the phone Guide. A step such as 8-4 is a distinct transition even when it is short. Next day means after the previous Janice event. If the Guide says to check tomorrow, sleep first; other steps continue immediately by changing rooms.
Numbering and version differences
The game does not use every number in a continuous sequence. Chapters 4 and 11 and step 5-2 have older dialogue but are bypassed in the reviewed route logic. Chapter 14 and step 21-2 are also skipped. These gaps are explained below. Follow your installed game's current Guide if an older build presents a different sequence.
Before you begin¶
| Prepare | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Learn the five time slots | Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night, and Late Night are separate. Chapter 8 specifically uses Late Night. |
| Keep Saturday available | The restaurant invitation in Chapter 12 is for Saturday. |
| Budget $300 for the restaurant | The invitation names the expense, and the date deducts $300. Freelance work can fund it. |
| Check the Guide after each event | Some steps continue that day; others wait for a new day. A changed number confirms that the event counted. |
Chapter 1 — A morning at home¶
1-0 — Wake up¶
Where: Your Room.
Janice is organizing her working day while the protagonist gets a late start. Finish the opening wake-up scene, then leave your room. The next objective is downstairs; there is no need to find Janice elsewhere in town.
1-1 — Face the music downstairs¶
Where: Living Room. When: Morning or Afternoon.
Join Janice for the opening conversation about the household and the day ahead. It establishes how much work she is handling and gives the protagonist a reason to help. Afterward, go to the basement for the first practical task.
1-2 — Finish the laundry¶
Where: Basement / Laundry Room. Follows: 1-1.
Enter the basement to find the laundry Janice left unfinished. The scene handles the remaining loads and records the chore as complete. There is no shopping trip or washing-machine upgrade required for this step. The route next sends you back to the Living Room.
Chapter 2 — A little appreciation¶
2-0 — Catch Janice cleaning¶
Where: Living Room. When: Evening, on a later day.
Find Janice dusting the furniture. She notices the help with the laundry and responds warmly. Finish the conversation before heading upstairs; this is a separate event from the private reflection that follows.
2-1 — Think things over¶
Where: Your Room. When: A later day in the reviewed route.
Return to your room for the protagonist's reflection on Janice's reaction. He decides to spend more time with her instead of staying alone upstairs. The next objective becomes a shared dinner in the Kitchen.
Chapter 3 — Dinner together¶
3-0 — Join Janice for dinner¶
Where: Kitchen. When: Evening, on a later day.
Sit down for a meal and let the conversation play through. Complimenting Janice's cooking is part of a longer discussion about her work around the house. The evening ends with a wish to do more for her, setting up the next domestic encounters.
Chapter 4 — Older laundry scene¶
4-0 — Banging from downstairs (older sequence)¶
Older dialogue describes the protagonist being woken by noise and helping Janice with another laundry problem. The reviewed route advances 3-0 directly to 5-0, so this is not an additional required quest in that sequence. If your Guide has reached Chapter 5, continue there instead of waiting for a wake-up event.
Chapter 5 — A mysterious delivery¶
5-0 — Answer the door¶
Where: Living Room / front door. When: Morning or Afternoon, on a later day.
The doorbell announces a package for Janice. Her guarded reaction makes the protagonist curious about its contents. Once she takes it upstairs, finish the scene and wait for the next opportunity to speak to her in the Living Room.
5-1 — Ask about the book¶
Where: Living Room. When: Morning through Evening, on a later day.
Find Janice reading on the couch. Talk to her about the unfamiliar book and notice how reluctant she is to discuss it. This changes the objective from talking to Janice to looking for the book in her bedroom.
5-2 — Entering while she is away (older transition)¶
The older scene is a short monologue about entering Janice's room while she is at work. In the reviewed route, 5-1 leads directly to 6-0. Treat this as background to the book search, not a separate day you must unlock.
Chapter 6 — The book and the hallway¶
6-0 — Find the book in Janice's room¶
Where: Janice's Room. When: Morning through Evening.
Enter her room once the book objective is active. The scene finds the book at the nightstand and follows the protagonist's discovery. Dialogue choices alter the exchange around being caught investigating; they are parts of this one event, not separate chapters. Finish the scene and leave the room.
6-1 — The morning shower mix-up¶
Where: Upstairs Hallway. When: Morning, on a later day.
Go through the hallway when the shower-related hint is active. Janice has just finished showering and an awkward encounter follows. The event is triggered from the hallway; waiting inside the bathroom is not the next route step.
Chapter 7 — A cooking mishap¶
7-0 — Visit the Kitchen while Janice cooks¶
Where: Kitchen. When: Evening, on a later day.
Check on Janice as she prepares dinner. A cooking accident leaves the protagonist needing a change of clothes. Follow that immediate objective upstairs after the Kitchen conversation, rather than waiting for another dinner event.
7-1 — Head upstairs to change¶
Where: Upstairs Hallway. Follows: 7-0.
The trip upstairs produces an encounter with Tara and a further conversation involving Janice. Let the whole exchange finish. It closes the cooking mishap and moves the route into the sequence of restless nights.
Chapter 8 — Six separate late-night steps¶
8-0 — The first restless night¶
Where: Your Room. When: Late Night.
Return to your room at the final time slot. The protagonist cannot stop thinking about recent events with Janice. Complete the short monologue and follow the game's sleep or time transition before checking the next hint.
8-1 — Another restless night¶
Where: Your Room. When: Late Night.
Return for the second reflection. Its setting and objective resemble 8-0, but it is its own numbered step. Check that the Guide changes to 8-2 before looking for an item elsewhere in the house.
8-2 — A questionable plan¶
Where: Your Room. When: Late Night.
The third reflection turns the protagonist's preoccupation into a plan to take one of Janice's bras. This is the point at which the objective changes rooms. Go to Janice's bedroom when the Guide advances to 8-3.
8-3 — The borrowed bra¶
Where: Janice's Room. Follows: 8-2.
The scene handles finding the item. The protagonist decides to leave her room, and the sequence sets up the nighttime return across the hallway. You do not need to buy a replacement item for this story step.
8-4 — Cross the hallway¶
Where: Upstairs Hallway. When: Night or Late Night.
This brief transition is easy to overlook because the phone hint still points toward your room. Pass through the hallway and let Janice's short reaction finish. Then enter your room to complete the final part of the sequence.
8-5 — Finish the bedroom follow-up¶
Where: Your Room. Follows: 8-4.
The protagonist has a private moment and then worries about being discovered. Complete the scene and its aftermath. Chapter 9 begins with waking in your own room on a later morning.
Chapter 9 — The morning after¶
9-0 — Remember what needs returning¶
Where: Your Room. When: Morning, on a later day.
Wake up for the protagonist's reflection on the previous night and the borrowed item. This is a short setup for breakfast. Once it finishes, go straight to the Kitchen while it is still Morning.
9-1 — Breakfast with Janice¶
Where: Kitchen. When: Morning.
Join Janice while she is cooking. The conversation renews the protagonist's interest in the laundry room and changes the objective again. Continue to the basement in the same morning slot.
9-2 — The laundry-room incident¶
Where: Basement / Laundry Room. When: Morning.
Follow the active objective downstairs. Janice discovers the protagonist during a private moment, creating the embarrassment carried into the next chapter. Finish the scene; repeatedly searching the laundry room afterward does not advance Chapter 10.
Chapter 10 — Returning the kindness¶
10-0 — Hear Janice calling¶
Where: Upstairs Hallway. When: Morning, on a later day.
Pass through the hallway to hear Janice asking you to come downstairs. This call is a separate trigger from the conversation itself. Go to the Living Room while it is still Morning.
10-1 — Offer to handle dinner¶
Where: Living Room. When: Morning.
Janice explains that work will keep her late. The protagonist offers to prepare dinner, and the conversation establishes that the groceries are already available. You do not need an additional grocery run for this objective.
10-2 — Cook a meal for two¶
Where: Kitchen. When: Afternoon or Evening.
Return later that day to prepare the meal. The scene includes cooking, Janice's arrival, dinner, and the aftermath. Although dialogue praises the protagonist's dexterity, the reviewed entry trigger does not impose a separate Dexterity threshold. Complete the whole evening before looking for the invitation in Chapter 12.
Chapter 11 — Older breakfast follow-up¶
11-0 — Breakfast after dinner (older sequence)¶
Older dialogue contains a breakfast encounter after the homemade dinner, ending with a kitchen interruption. The reviewed route advances 10-2 directly to 12-0. If your Guide shows the restaurant invitation, you have not missed a compulsory breakfast chapter.
Chapter 12 — The Saturday date¶
12-0 — Receive the invitation¶
Where: Your Room. When: A later day.
Janice texts to arrange dinner at a fancy restaurant. Read the exchange: Saturday is the date, and the protagonist estimates needing $300. Use the days beforehand for work or other routes, then check the calendar before traveling downtown.
12-1 — Meet at the Restaurant¶
Where: Restaurant, Downtown. When: Saturday; the Guide recommends Evening. Budget: $300.
Complete the date, including getting seated, conversation, dinner, and the walk afterward. Changes of backdrop within the scene do not require separate trips. Rain interrupts the end of the outing. The next objective is to get back inside My House.
12-2 — Get out of the rain¶
Where: Living Room at My House. Follows: 12-1.
Enter the house for the immediate continuation. The evening becomes more personal, but Janice pulls back and leaves the protagonist uncertain about what happened. Finish the aftermath, then return to your own room on a later day.
Chapter 13 — Talking about what happened¶
13-0 — Janice visits your room¶
Where: Your Room. When: A later day.
Janice comes to discuss the previous evening. The conversation acknowledges the confusion and tries to reset the relationship, ending with an invitation to breakfast. This resolves the date's immediate aftermath; it is not a failed route ending.
Chapter 14 — Numbering gap¶
The route proceeds from 13-0 to 15-0. There is no separate Chapter 14 objective in the reviewed sequence. Continue with the next Guide hint.
Chapter 15 — Janice and Lily talk¶
15-0 — A change of perspective¶
Trigger: Upstairs Hallway, on a later day. Scene: Janice and Lily's conversation.
Although the Guide refers to voices in the Living Room, the reviewed entry trigger is upstairs. The scene follows Janice's thoughts and her conversation with Lily, revealing that the attempted reset has not resolved her feelings. Afterward, watch for the first of three messages.
Chapter 16 — The first work message¶
16-0 — Give an opinion on a design¶
Where: Your Room, Upstairs Hallway, or Living Room. When: Morning or Afternoon, on a later day.
Janice sends a picture and asks for an opinion connected to her work. Read the complete exchange. It starts a three-part messaging sequence, with each message getting its own chapter number.
Chapter 17 — Another request for feedback¶
17-0 — The second message¶
Where: Your Room, Upstairs Hallway, or Living Room. When: Morning or Afternoon.
Janice follows up with another outfit-related question. Complete the conversation and recheck the Guide. The reviewed trigger does not require an extra day between Chapters 16 and 17; moving between eligible rooms can bring up the next exchange.
Chapter 18 — A more personal message¶
18-0 — The third message¶
Where: Your Room, Upstairs Hallway, or Living Room. When: Morning or Afternoon.
The third exchange changes the tone again and leaves the protagonist questioning Janice's intentions. Finish it before starting Chapter 19. As with 17-0, this is a message event in the house rather than an appointment at her workplace.
Chapter 19 — The wall-hole subplot¶
19-0 — The idea¶
Where: Your Room. When: A later day.
The protagonist reflects on the messages and makes an ill-advised plan to spy through the adjoining wall. This short scene activates the tool-search objective. The next destination is the basement, not Janice's room.
19-1 — Find the drill¶
Where: Basement / Laundry Room.
Search during the active objective. The scene finds a power drill in the laundry cabinets, where the household keeps batteries. The tool is supplied by the story; there is no need to buy one at the Mall.
19-2 — Return to your room¶
Where: Your Room. Follows: 19-1.
The drilling scene includes an interruption from Lily before the protagonist completes the hole. Finish that conversation and the remaining work. The next step is waiting for Janice to return from work.
19-3 — The after-work discovery¶
Where: Your Room. When: Evening.
Re-enter your room in the required slot once the hole is ready. The scene reveals that Janice's feelings have continued despite the earlier conversation. This completes the spying subplot and unlocks her next direct request for help.
Chapter 20 — Helping with the outfits¶
20-0 — Answer the call from her room¶
Where: Upstairs Hallway. When: Morning or Afternoon, on a later day.
Janice calls from her bedroom and asks for an opinion on something for work. Let the short invitation play before entering her room. This is a paired event, so the visit itself does not require another day.
20-1 — Visit Janice's room¶
Where: Janice's Room. When: Morning or Afternoon.
Find the outfits she has laid out and continue the conversation. The fitting becomes a relationship turning point, ending with a promise to continue when the household is quiet. The next objective is dinner in Chapter 21.
Chapter 21 — Three evenings together¶
21-0 — Dinner and an invitation¶
Where: Kitchen. When: Evening.
Join Janice while she finishes dinner and the dishes. With Tara and Lily occupied upstairs, the conversation leads to an invitation to Janice's bedroom. Continue there at Night; the meal is the setup, not the final bedroom event.
21-1 — The first night¶
Where: Janice's Room. When: Night or Late Night, after the invitation.
Complete the relationship scene and its closing conversation. It establishes the relationship openly between the two characters. The route then moves to 21-3; there is no separate 21-2 task to locate.
21-3 — Return on another evening¶
Where: Janice's Room. When: Evening onward, on a later day.
Return for the second bedroom encounter, which uses Janice's blue-dress variation. Even though parts of the conversation resemble the first night, this is a separate progression step. Finish it and let another day pass before returning again.
21-4 — The third visit¶
Where: Janice's Room. When: Evening onward, on a later day.
Visit once more when the Guide repeats the invitation. This follow-up shares dialogue with 21-3 but has its own route state. Completing it moves the story to the morning-visit chapters; do not stop after the first bedroom scene if you want the complete sequence.
Chapter 22 — The first surprise visit¶
22-0 — Wake up to Janice¶
Where: Your Room. When: Morning, on a later day.
Return to your own bed for a surprise visit. The scene shows the changed routine between the characters and ends with Janice offering to repeat the encounter later. Finish the event, then allow another day for Chapter 23.
Chapter 23 — Another morning together¶
23-0 — The second surprise visit¶
Where: Your Room. When: Morning, on a later day.
Janice visits again for a different morning encounter. Let the closing conversation finish. The reviewed numbered storyline advances to its 24-0 completion state, rather than presenting another authored Chapter 24 scene.
After the numbered route¶
Continue talking to Janice for the interactions available in your build. Later updates also add family-related conversations and events; those are covered by the pregnancy and family guide rather than being extra numbered steps between Chapters 1 and 23.
If progress stops¶
| Current objective | Check |
|---|---|
| Repeated restless-night hint | Use Late Night, and check whether the subchapter changed from 8-0 to 8-1 or 8-2. |
| Returning from Janice's room in Chapter 8 | Cross the Upstairs Hallway for 8-4 before entering Your Room for 8-5. |
| Restaurant date | Confirm it is Saturday and keep $300 available. |
| Janice and Lily talking | Trigger 15-0 from the Upstairs Hallway, even though the conversation concerns the Living Room. |
| Messages in Chapters 16–18 | Use the three eligible house rooms during Morning or Afternoon and finish each exchange. |
| Another bedroom invitation | 21-1, 21-3, and 21-4 are separate visits. The last two require later days. |
| An apparently missing chapter | Consult the numbering notes before spending days waiting for a skipped event. |
Coverage checked against the English Guide, numbered scene dialogue, and route triggers. Older dialogue and automatic transitions are identified separately so they are not mistaken for extra required quests.
